Derived from the Latin “saphirus” and the Greek “sapheiros”, both of which mean blue, sapphire actually naturally occurs in many different colors. Since ancient times sapphires have been associated with royalty and is believed to attract abundance and blessings. Sapphires are also have been used a a defense against harm & envy.

The Rockefeller Sapphire is a stunning 62.02ct cornflower blue sapphire purchased by John D. Rockefeller Jr. in 1934. In 2001 this stunning stone was sold at action for over $3 million!

Princess Diana was proposed to in 1981 with a 12ct Ceylon sapphire ring that was surrounded by 14ct of diamonds. Though at the time it only cost $60,000 it is now worth more than $500,000.
